Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners

  • Susan Candelaria, PMHNP-BC

    Susan Candelaria, is a board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with a passion for helping individuals with mental health issues. She believes that a therapeutic partnership with her patients is key in treating the “whole” patient. She specifically has a passion for depression and anxiety disorders.

    Susan’s professional background includes 16 years of acute care nursing experience in various areas of healthcare. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Nevada State College in 2005. She then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from The University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 2010. Most recently, in 2020, she obtained a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric – Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in psychiatric-mental health nursing.

    Susan is originally from Illinois and when not working, enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and three dogs. She loves watching sports and being outdoors.

  • Maria Mondonedo, PMHNP-BC

    Maria Mondonedo, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that has recently joined the company. Maria started out her career as a young staff nurse and worked her way up. She received her master’s degree in nursing from  Maryville University, where she graduated with remarkable grades. Prior to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Maria worked as a Staff Nurse for different Psychiatric Hospitals in the area. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Maria brings empathy, and an easygoing communication style, making it easy for her to talk to patients and family members.

    Maria provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and education to the patient and family members experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar and other mood disorders, and recovery from addiction, all of which she approaches with patience, and understanding.

    Outside of work, Maria loves to travel, enjoys the outdoors, and hiking.

  • Christian Coronel, PMHNP-BC

    Christian Coronel is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). He is passionate about helping others overcome the struggles and challenges they face regarding their mental health. His lifelong mission is to help children, adolescents, and adults achieve peace and harmony within their lives. Christian believes that we all need support to navigate through life’s ups and downs, but with the right balance of psychotherapy and pharmacological management, we can overcome the obstacles that stand in our way.

    Christian graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Herzing University. In his free time, he enjoys playing the violin, playing badminton outdoors, and playing basketball with friends. He especially loves spending time with his 2 dogs, Bear and Scout.

    Christian has experience working in a variety of psychiatric settings including high-acuity inpatient stabilization and treatment, substance abuse intervention and treatment, and outpatient mental health. Whether you suffer from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, and/or any other mental health concerns, Christian is eager to gain your trust and support you as you seek to live your life to its fullest potential.

  • Sarah Riopelle, PMHNP-BC

    Sarah Riopelle is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Sarah has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner working with inpatient and outpatient mental health patients. Sarah has recently joined the company.

    Drawing from her 10+ years of professional mental health experience, Sarah works to empower patients to understand their mental health conditions and what avenues of treatment are available to them. Her areas of focus include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Sarah treats children ages 8+, adolescents, and adults, offering both in-person services and telehealth.

    Through a patient-centered, team-based approach, Sarah utilizes an array of psychotherapeutic techniques as well as psychotropic medications to allow for optimized results. She actively engages her patients to participate in medical decision-making and helps them make informed choices regarding their mental health needs. As the field of psychiatric medicine is constantly developing, Sarah continues to educate herself about cutting-edge therapeutic and treatment modalities to provide the best care possible. Sarah looks forward to partnering with you to improve your self-image, enhance your relationships, and to live the life you want and deserve.

  • Christine Adol, PMHNP-BC

    Christine Adol has recently joined the company. She has completed her Postgraduate Certification for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Purdue University Global in West Lafayette, Indiana, after earning her Master of Nursing from Angeles University Foundation, Philippines.  Christine, born and raised in the Philippines has been a nurse in acute care hospitals since 2005, where she gained vast knowledge and expertise in taking care of patients with psychiatric and medical conditions.

    Christine understands the direct link between physical and mental health.  She provides goal-oriented interventions, adheres to evidence-based practice guidelines, and considers the ethnicity and culture of the client.  Christine's objective is to assist individuals in acknowledging their strengths, establishing realistic goals, and maintaining optimism regarding the future.  She is a 2021 Daisy Award honoree because of her compassion and care for her patients.

  • Josil George, PMHNP-BC

    Josil George, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Josil has recently joined the company.  Josil George has dedication to providing evidence-based care for individuals facing mental health challenges.  Leveraging 5 years of experience in acute care nursing, he brings a strong foundation in patient care and a commitment to building therapeutic relationships.

    Josil is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where patients feel empowered to address their mental health needs. He utilizes a blend of empathy and clinical expertise to develop personalized treatment plans that are grounded in the latest research and best practices.

    Josil holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is dedicated to lifelong learning and staying on top of the latest advancements in the field of mental health.

Psychotherapists

  • Celeste Turner, LCSW

    LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

    Celeste Turner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has been with the company for three years. Prior to she has spent over 8 years providing trauma informed clinical case management for children and families and outpatient treatment services for both children and adults for over three years.

    Celeste primarily works with those whom are vulnerable and underrepresented to empower growth and healing in our communities. She is dedicated to creating a sufficient and punctual environment for each client, where professional relationships can be built. Celeste actively works to create a calm, therapeutic, nonjudgmental, safe space for each client.

    Celeste facilitates individual, couples/family therapy and group therapy. Celeste maintains a small number of clients. Celeste’s treatment focus are trauma and stressor related disorders, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. Her treatment models include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person centered therapy, Trauma-informed care, The Body Keeps the Score, and Solution focused therapy.

  • Eileen Salazar, LCPC

    LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

    Eileen Salazar, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor has been with the company for one year. Prior to she has spent working with teens and adults.

    Eileen facilitates individual therapy. She is able to provide a therapeutic experience in English and Spanish. She emphasizes on the importance of cultural competency and providing services for clients in a safe, non-judgmental space. Eileen assists in treating patients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Different therapeutic approaches used in sessions include integrative approach emphasizing Cultural based therapy, Spiritual based therapy, and Existential Therapy.

    Eileen believes that that within each person lies the potential for personal growth and positive change.

  • Reymon Ulan, LCPC

    LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

    Reymon Ulan, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor has been with the company for one year. Prior to he has spent years working with teens and adults individually and groups in school and outpatient settings. 

    Reymon facilitates individual therapy, couples/family therapy, and group therapy. Through the use of different therapeutic approaches, Rey helps patients see their mental health, thoughts, and emotions with fresh eyes so they can reintroduce calm to your life, improve your relationships, and live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life. Different therapeutic approaches used in sessions include a humanistic, strengths based approach which incorporates elements of mindfulness and visualization, emotional regulation, behavioral activation, inner strength, mind-body intercommunication, and relational growth.

    Reymon’s philosophy is “Choosing therapy is an act of courage and self-advocacy.

  • Paige Peterson, MFT-Intern

    MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST INTERN

    Paige Peterson, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern has recently joined the company.

    Paige is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in Nevada practicing under the supervision of a licensed MFT.  She has a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and am currently attending school for a PhD in Health Psychology to learn how to better help people find wellness through a whole sense of health including physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual wellbeing.  In the therapy room she offer a non judgmental and caring environment and often using a variety of therapy approaches including mindfulness, DBT, EMDR, narrative, solution focused, and Polyvagal.

    Paige has completed training in Gottman couples therapy, polyvagal techniques, EMDR, and trauma informed interventions.  Her clinical experience has been in helping people with complex trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, chronic illness, identity issues, relationship difficulties, self esteem, and body image difficulties.  

    Her passion is helping people heal and build a sense of wellbeing.  When she am not working she usually takes her dog on a hike, working on her own personal growth and wellness, going on roadtrips, and enjoying connecting with others.   

  • Heather Long, CSW-Intern

    CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK INTERN

    Heather Long is a Clinical Social Work Intern who has recently joined the company. She graduated in 2022 from Capella University with my MSW in Social Work.  Prior to this she received her bachelors degree in Social Work from Sacramento State University.  Heather has experience working inpatient at a psychiatric hospital, and at a residential treatment facility. Her experience also includes working with families and individuals struggling with complex trauma, couples therapy, grief, life stressors, addiction, anxiety and depression.

    Heather has received training in trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety and depression.  It is her desire to create a safe place for individuals to learn and grow.  She utilizes a client centered approach along with CBT, DBT and trauma informed care.

  • Jacob Wisdorf, CSW-Intern

    CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK INTERN

    Jacob Wisdorf is a Clinical Social Work Intern who has recently been hired to the company. Prior to Changing Minds Psychiatry, Jacob recently had spent time working as the Lead Social worker with the Geriatric Psychiatry residential unit at Boulder City Hospital, in Boulder City NV. He has also worked with clients who were impacted by comorbidity of SUD and severe mental Illness in AZ. As well as spending time working with combat veterans at the Vet Center in Duluth MN.

    Jacob facilitates individual therapy and group therapy. Jacob uses trauma informed care and harm reduction approaches. Jacob takes a systems theory as well as a strengths-based approach to treatment. In sessions Jacob seeks to assist in treating patients who are experiencing substance abuse issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Jacob is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches which include Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, DBT skills and Motivational Interviewing to be used in sessions.

    Jacob is passionate about the use of mindfulness, self-advocacy, empathy and being non-judgmental in providing a therapeutic space for healing, wellness, and connection.
